What is Google Public DNS ?
Google Public DNS is a Domain Name System service offered to Internet users worldwide by Google. It functions as a recursive name server. Google Public DNS was announced on 3 December 2009, in an effort described as "making the web faster and more secure". Wikipedia
In the DNS servers field, enter the Google Public DNS IP addresses, separated by a comma:
- For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4.
- For IPv6: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and/or 2001:4860:4860::8844.
- For IPv6-only: you can use Google Public DNS64 instead of the IPv6 addresses in the previous point.
As of April 2016, Google Public DNS offers DNS over HTTPS, DNS resolution over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
